Other Places

  •  Columbus, Ohio: one administrator convicted, four principals fired, 65 district employees under investigation for illegally changing student data to make district's state test scores look better (superintendent Gene Harris retired before she could be indicted)
    • Dennis Cheesebrow from TeamWorks and Betty Webb from Webb & Associates both performed consulting work for the Columbus schools while the cheating scandal was ongoing. In fact, before people realized the high tests scores were due to cheating, Cheesebrow was happy to take credit for the part TeamWorks played in the turnaround:
  • Atlanta, Georgia: former superintendent Beverly Hall indicted in standardized test cheating scandal.

    •   Betty Webb performed consulting work (while employed by the Panasonic Foundation) for the Atlanta schools while the cheating scandal was happening.
  • Sweetwater Union High School District, California: former superintendent Jesus Gandara pleads guilty.
  • Lawrence, Massachusetts: former superintendent Wilfredo Laboy sentenced to jail time.
  • Dayton, Ohio: former superintendent Gary Rye sentenced.
  • Greenville, Mississippi: former superintendent Harvey Franklin sentenced to more than 6 years in federal bribery case.
